When Plantu, the historical cartoonist from Journal Le Monde, joins forces with photojournalist Reza, that's what happens! A committed exhibition written with four hands and crossed by hybrid works, made of monochrome caricatures and poignant photographs. In a difficult context where covering the news is still today a daily risk-taking, the Musée de l'Homme wanted to celebrate the work of these two great defenders of freedom of expression, witnesses essentials of the great upheavals of their time. At the age of 70, the two men have seen it all, the horror of war, repression, censorship. One experienced torture, imprisonment and exile, the other death threats and attacks. Faced with the violence of our civilization, Plantu and Reza have armed themselves with their only weapon: a pencil for the first, a camera for the second. In dialogue or in opposition, the humanist and composite works of the two reporters today denounce inequalities with one voice, document conflicts, alert on the cause of migration, so that public opinion sides with fraternity. and that fear ends up definitively changing sides.
