Our Images from the Oceans exhibition, the new Immersive Odyssey from L’Atelier des Lumières

19

Ready for the big dive ? L’Atelier des Lumières takes young and old on a crazy aquatic adventure following in the footsteps of photographer Brian Skerry. A senior reporter for National Geographic magazine, the American photojournalist with more than 10,000 hours of exploration spent at the bottom of the oceans has temporarily returned to the surface to sign this fabulous underwater odyssey revealing all the mysteries and wonders of the aquatic world. In two strokes of our fins, we are immersed in the depths of the abyss of tropical, temperate and arctic seas, in contact with countless schools of multicolored fish, coral reefs, sea turtles and even polar seals. On the walls of this captivating exhibition, the lives of microscopic crustaceans and large predators mingle. Surprising photos of a small, harmless yellow Gobi sheltering at the bottom of a can stranded in Suruga Bay sit alongside spectacular images of a large sperm whale splashing in the open Caribbean Sea, while an immense whale shark is barreling straight towards us . A dreamlike journey that ends with the hope, one day, of succeeding in preserving this fragile ecosystem.
