Disappearing Worlds exhibition at the Natural History Museum
Let's go back in time, 3.5 billion years ago... This fall, the National Museum of Natural History invites us to embark on an exceptional immersive expedition to discover history of the Earth and life. A first in France! Equipped with a virtual reality headset, we will live a breathtaking experience, coming across specimens here and there that have been extinct for millennia. The illusion is perfect, the journey captivating. We walk quietly through unsuspected landscapes of spectacular beauty, welcoming fascinating and sometimes little-known species such as this immense centipede or these marine reptiles. It is in an almost mystical silence that we will witness, in amazement, the appearance of animal life, 520 million years ago... before being awakened – and let us say it, petrified – by the terrifying cries of the immense dinosaurs of the Cretaceous… For 45 minutes, we let ourselves be guided virtually by young Charlie, accompanied by her faithful robot Darwin, who draw our attention to the wonders of our planet, home to an unsuspected number of species .
