Exhibition The time we need at the MAIF Social Club
16
Who has never needed “a little time”? In this fast-paced world, this exhibition emerges as an invitation to pause, reflect and contemplate. A deeply contemplative and stimulating experience that explores the complex and paradoxical subtleties of this “time” that determines our lives. An unproductive time sometimes, guilt-inducing for some, too rare for others... Julia Haumont's textile creations weave a striking visual story that invites us to revisit the carefree moments of childhood when time was an inexhaustible resource . Then comes the time for suspended moments, magnificently illustrated by this mural by Lingzi Ji. A moment of silence suddenly broken by Arno Fabre’s “ballet for shoes”, like a poetic tribute to the steps we take to move forward in this world. What follows are bold, insolent and funny creations, which parody our relationship with a time that escapes us. Overproduction, frantic search for efficiency, unstoppable acceleration... But ultimately, how to slow down? How to appreciate the present moment? Artists are mobilizing to remind us that slowness is above all an art, that free moments are just as precious as busy moments, provided they are experienced with all the intensity of the present.
