Farah Atassi and Ulla von Brandenburg are said to have nothing in common. The first developed a geometric figurative painting from an abstract vocabulary, the second distinguished herself through the creation of gigantic suspended textile installations, made of monumental and enveloping canvases. One exhibited at Picasso, the other at the Palais de Tokyo. We could further force the point by opposing the modernist figure of Farah Atassi (the brunette) against the dreamlike world of Ulla von Brandenburg (the blonde). So why bring together the work of these two artists who everything seems to oppose?

The Pernod Ricard Foundation dares to bring together the two visual artists by highlighting their natural inclination for the stage, their common taste for pop, tangy or pastel colors, and this same sense of theatricality. The exhibition goes even further. In this labyrinthine journey constructed by sections of colored fabric, Farah Atassi's paintings appear as the decor for Ulla von Brandenburg's installations, and the environments of one as the decor for the canvases of the other. The curtain has finally risen, the show can begin.
