Our images from the Hervé Di Rosa exhibition at the Center Pompidou, the passage between two universes
20
Did the Centre Pompidou expect such an upheaval with this exhibition? Star of this mini-retrospective, the ebullient Hervé Di Rosa remains true to himself by taking pleasure in creating disorder in our minds. Hook, jab, uppercut… The chaotic work teeming with chimeras of the founder of Modest Art hits you directly in the face. As trashy, exuberant and colorful as its author, this punchy exhibition offers in around thirty electrifying works an eloquent overview of his influences around the world. Here Hervé Di Rosa borrows the technique of the Bulgarian icon, reinvents the painting of signs from Ghana, uses and abuses the sequins of the Haitian community while adopting the art of lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlays from Vietnam. An irresistibly disjointed world tour of techniques.
