Paintings of the Norman landscape by Edouard Vuillard exhibited at the Villa du temps rediscovery
VILLA OF TIME RECOVERED
From March 2 to November 11, 2024
Edouard Vuillard stayed in Amfreville, Cabourg, probably Honfleur and took advantage of these repeated stopovers to create a host of Norman works. The Villa du Temps Recovered is organizing a festival dedicated to the heritage of the Impressionist movement and exhibiting its paintings of the Cabourg landscape. In these Norman natures, we can detect the influence that Monet had on his work. The impressionist legacy is extended to today with contemporary works by Davide Quayola. With a dithyrambic song, the exhibition praises this avant-garde movement which has endured through the decades.
Did you know?
Who is she, the woman with brown curls found in a hundred of Edouard Vuillard's paintings? More than his muse, Lucy was his lover, but never his wife. The beautiful Lucy was married to the painter's great friend, Jos Hessel. For 38 years until their successive deaths in 1940 and 1941, the two lovers continued their romance.
