Underground Worlds exhibition at the Louvre Lens

LOUVRE LENS
From March 27 to July 22, 2024

Like Aeneas, follow us down... underground. After greeting the Sybil, gradually burrow into the darkness. Inverted mirrors of our societies, caves sometimes hide, sometimes shelter what we bury, what we fear or what we hope for. Paintings, sculptures, installations, books, films, and even architecture: the profusion of protean works in this exhibition shows that underground worlds, real or dreamed, have obsessed Humans since the dawn of time. The depth, tinged with myths and legends, also knows how to be fertile and rich. A contrasting journey through the ages and perceptions.
