The exhibition The great restored decorations of Notre-Dame at the Mobilier national
National furniture
From April 24 to July 21, 2024
Curiosity is a bad thing. Fortunately, the Mobilier National quenches our thirst for exclusivity by giving us a nice gift, that of discovering the precious decorations of Notre-Dame de Paris before anyone else. Let's come closer and observe. In cathedral silence, this meticulous exhibition invites us to go behind the scenes of a rebirth, revealing the best-kept secrets of the Lady of Stone since her terrible accident. Let's get closer. Between past and present, twenty-one paintings miraculously saved from the flames coexist here with the immense Savonnerie carpet ordered by Charles , as well as new contemporary designer pieces designed to refurnish the baptistery, the altar and the tabernacle. In addition to these fabulous treasures, the jewel of this collection undoubtedly remains the historic collection of thirteen Mays signed Charles Le Brun, Laurent de La Hyre and Aubin Vouet. Masterpieces of religious painting taken from the Gospels, revealed as in the first days of their installation and which make Notre-Dame the eternal setting that we all know.
