Our images from Foreign Nature: the unknown invades the Atelier des Lumières
What do you see ? An army of suspended spaceships? A cathedral of plant images or a bundle of molecules in full mutation? Are we in space or have we stranded somewhere in the depths of the oceans? L'Atelier des Lumières blurs the lines, diluting the boundaries of the real world by taking us into this strange place; a contemporary capsule where the distinction between the sacred and the profane fades and where the border between the organic and the artificial instantly blurs. To orchestral and electronic music by Ben Lukas Boysen, we let our imagination run wild. We thus see her drift away to join the digital compositions of Julius Horsthuis.
If we are tempted to guess what happens next in the computer-generated algorithms, we invite you, like us, to let go and simply observe this unknown that comes…
