The sky is clearing up, the temperatures are rising, the birds are singing in the parks: the arrival of spring is also the time to have another picnic. The Champs-Élysées Committee, aware of this crazy desire for the outdoors among Parisians, has planned widely for the occasion: on May 26, 4,000 people will meet for a picnic on the most beautiful avenue in the world. , in the sun, in the rain, at noon or at midnight, there will be everything you want on the Champs-Élysées.

Closed to traffic for the occasion, the Champs-Élysées will be the scene of an extraordinary event, since a gingham checkered tablecloth more than 216 meters long will cover the asphalt, to allow thousands of visitors to come and eat at the 9 ephemeral kitchens present. To hope to be one of the lucky ones, it will be a matter of luck: a free, online draw is planned to determine those who will be able to participate. But no preparation is necessary! To highlight the know-how of the Champs-Élysées restaurateurs, meal baskets will be distributed free of charge to all guests present, to allow them to enjoy the moment without pressure. The scale of the gathering is such that two services are planned, one at 11:45 a.m., then a second at 1:30 p.m. A festive meal, completely free, in an iconic place, but also various musical, cultural, gastronomic events: what more could you ask for to enjoy the beautiful Parisian weather?

After the giant dictations, organized in June 2023 and bringing together more than 5,000 people, the desire of the Champs-Élysées Committee is to break a new world attendance record during this exceptional picnic. The XXL tablecloth, made in France from recycled fabrics, will be the ideal meeting place, since each tile, measuring 9m2, will accommodate groups of up to 6 people. So, to hope to be one of the participants who will appear in the Guinness Book of Records, registration for the event is now open, but you will still have to wait until the beginning of May before knowing if you will be there. .
