The month of August will end in apotheosis with Rock en Seine, which this year offers five days of unforgettable festivities, from August 21 to 25, 2024. Nestled in the enchanting setting of the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, the festival succeeds in making us impatiently wait for the end of the summer holidays. This unmissable event in the musical calendar promises to harmoniously combine sport and music, a particularly timely alliance between the Olympic Games and the Paralympics.
The opening of the festival, Wednesday August 21, will be marked by an exceptional evening dedicated to Lana Del Rey. For the second year in a row, this evening will feature an all-female program. The talented new face of the Belgian pop scene, Rori, as well as Towa Bird, adored by Billie Eilish and Tyler, the Creator, will open the festivities. They will be followed by Pomme, whose pop-folk melodies never fail to captivate, before Lana Del Rey captivates the audience with her charismatic presence.
From Thursday August 22 and until Sunday August 25, the program will be enriched with new renowned artists. Among them, Kae Tempest, master of spoken word and multidisciplinary artist, will offer us a captivating performance. Londoner Venna, a saxophonist fusing jazz and hip-hop, will come crowned with his Grammy Award. Sofie Royer, a multi-talented artist, also promises to seduce festival-goers with her eclecticism.
The Firestone stage, true to its reputation, will host a tailor-made program this year. The British from CVC, a Welsh psyche-pop troupe, will share the stage with Joy (Anonymous), a euphoric dance duo, and Loverman, a dark crooner. The Toronto collective New West, revelation of the last JUNO Awards, will also be there, as will pop artists Rachel Chinouriri and Nell Mescal. The neo-soul notes of BINA. will color the atmosphere with nuances of R&B and jazz. The young British quintet Soft Launch, the New Yorkers Monobloc, and the French Vox Low and Yoa will complete this eclectic picture.
Rock en Seine continues to play its role as a talent scout with the programming of Club Avant Seine artists, selected by a jury of professionals. Astral Bakers, Merryn Jeann, Rallye, Dog Park, Madam, Nina Versyp and Clara Kimera are among these future phenomena, ready to conquer the stage. Their support by the festival through training days in June and September will help them perfect their artistic projects.
Among the headliners, Massive Attack, heroes of trip-hop, will be back for a fourth appearance, offering breathtaking audiovisual concerts. The Bristol band, known for their mystery and activism, promise an unforgettable performance on Saturday August 24. The Offspring, pop-punk legends, will celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their cult album "Smash" during their performance on the same day. Their energy on stage remains intact, despite the years, and their concert promises to be a real party.
