Fernand Léger and the new realisms exhibition at the Fernand Léger National Museum
Fernand Léger National Museum, Biot - SOUTH
Until November 18, 2024
Niki de Saint Phalle, Arman, Yves Klein, Raymond Hains, Martial Raysse and César come together around the immense Fernand Léger, in a visual symphony bringing Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring into dialogue. Orchestrated around the key themes of the diversion of the object, the representation of the body and leisure, and the place of art in public space, the exhibition displays a panel of some one hundred and ten works, taking elements of the most banal reality, from materials to symbols, to elevate them to the rank of works of art.
Through these powerful artistic gestures, these new artists merge art and life, revealing to the world the poetic beauty of everyday life. The exhibition highlights the visionary modernity of Fernand Léger, a true source of inspiration for the revolutionary artists of the 1960s, all joining together in a daring exploration of material reality.
