Miles Aldridge at the Park Hyatt Vendôme: the exhibition is free, the star portrait is a bonus
PARK HYATT PARIS-VENDÔME
From October 19 to December 1, 2026
During Art Basel Paris, fashion photography star Miles Aldridge is exhibiting his Technicolor heroines for free in a five-star hotel just steps from Place Vendôme, most of them never before seen in France. The bonus: for €450, he'll take your Polaroid portrait in the Imperial Suite.
A pale green door, a brass number 10, a blonde in purple velvet clutching a bouquet of roses wrapped in cellophane. Is she arriving or leaving? The entire Entrances and Exits (Entrances and Exits) hinges on this suspense. From October 19 to December 1, 2026, Miles Aldridge will be displaying his photographs in places where people usually only pass through: the lobby, the corridors, and the Café Jeanne at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme on Rue de la Paix. No ticket, no queue: you simply walk through the door of a five-star hotel and find yourself strolling through a film. The hotel has already hosted Helmut Newton and Ellen von Unwerth; it was high time Miles stepped through its doors.
If his name doesn't ring a bell, his images certainly will. Since the mid-1990s, this Londoner, son of graphic designer Alan Aldridge, has been creating Technicolor scenes for Vogue Italia: perfect housewives, frozen smiles, vibrant kitchens, and always something amiss beneath the perfectly styled hair. He still shoots on film, and his prints are in the collections of the British Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Palais Galliera, and the International Center of Photography in New York.
On the program, conceived by curator Constance Breton: the Doors, these women captured on the doorstep of a hotel room (it's hard to imagine a better setting), the poisonous interiors of The Rooms, the pop feasts of New Utopias, A Precious Glam, and 3-D, platinum blonde in movie glasses, straw in her mouth and popcorn in hand. Most had never been seen in France before. And everything is for sale, for anyone who wants to take it home.
The real bonus is upstairs, from October 20 to 22. The Imperial Suite is transformed into a Hollywood studio for the 15 Minutes of Fame Polaroid Project, a nod to Warhol's promise of fifteen minutes of fame, born from his Time cover with Elton John. In front of its pleated orange curtain, Miles Aldridge will have you pose, alone or in groups of up to four, amidst a vintage telephone, popcorn, and a cocktail glass. Fifteen minutes flat, €450 per session (not per person), and a dozen Polaroids selected and signed by the artist, sent to you once digitized. No modeling experience required: he's in charge. Bookings can be made on the artist's website, so don't delay.
