Can one be wise in a world of madmen? At the MAIF Social Club, fifteen artists embrace joyful dissent. What deserves resistance? The exploitation of bodies, the depletion of the Earth, hate speech. With one conviction: one can fight a brutal world without abandoning joy.

An embrace amidst flames: the image by Julie Chaffort immediately sets the tone. In the forest, two people cling to each other, their clothes catching fire. The green of the trees, the simplicity of the clothing, the orange that devours a sleeve: the beauty of the scene makes its violence all the more striking. Faced with these entwined bodies, it's difficult to separate tenderness from danger.

In Nicolas Daubanes's work, resistance attacks the materials themselves. Iron becomes filings, concrete crumbles. What is used to build, to hold, loses its solidity. Even what seems insurmountable can give way.

The Hasnya association, also invited, champions the stories of mothers from working-class neighborhoods and immigrant backgrounds. Women who are often talked about but rarely listened to are given a voice. The title then takes on its full meaning: to sow is also to prevent a memory from disappearing with the one who carries it. And to give it the means to multiply. An escape is underway, an escape of the heart.
