Video - Sound and light of the Grotte des Canalettes
Grottes des Canalettes
Head to the Grottes des Grandes Canalettes, barely 300m from the medieval city of Villefranche-de-Conflent, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, for a sound and light experience like no other. We are here in marvelous places, nicknamed the “underground Versailles”, 40 meters underground in caves 400 million years old. An extraordinary journey into the depths, for 25 minutes you will hold your breath because this light display is so dazzling. We go back in time, from the Big Bang to today, in a show that summons all the forces of nature, marvelous aquatic dives, uncontrollable bursts of fire, tornadoes of a thousand colors, everything is done here to immerse you in the bowels of the Earth and awaken your child's soul in these spaces lined with ancestral rocks. We would like it to never end, as this show so sumptuously combines marvels of technology and nature. Our advice on the other hand, remember to take a small sweater, because it is a little 14° in the caves.
