Sensitive souls refrain ! The master of hyperrealism Ron Mueck signs his big return to the capital with this disconcerting exhibition articulated around a small selection of works never before seen in France, some of which were created especially for the occasion. Welcomed by the spectacular Mass, a chaotic tangle of one hundred skulls of immaculate whiteness forming in the light of day an overwhelming funereal memento mori, we are soon trapped in this macabre XXL installation which seems to close in on us. Faced with death, the Australian sculptor does not forget to celebrate life. We quickly become acquainted with monumental pieces of surgical precision like this oversized newborn lying on the ground. With wrinkled skin and sticky hair, Ron Mueck's delightfully cruel work spares no detail from the public eye. For the first time in his career, the artist, former puppeteer of the Muppet Show, however dares to exhibit an unfinished piece here. A figurative scene of great expressiveness, modeled in red clay where we can still make out a few fingerprints, assuming for good the most perfect form of imperfection.
