Do You Believe in Ghosts exhibition at the Pernod Ricard Foundation

7

And you, do you still believe in ghosts? This seemingly innocuous question actually says a lot about our relationship to the world and our very Western appreciation of the beyond. A limited vision that the Pernod Ricard Foundation wishes to overcome with this spectral exhibition which rehabilitates the supernatural in our daily lives. But what is a ghost? Is it this thing that we do not see, but which looks at us like this single eye enthroned in the middle of a blank painting? Unless this one is closer to the psychedelic patterns represented by the artist Anne Bourse, reflecting the chaos that governs us in the face of the unpredictable. In the midst of this meditative exhibition, all hypotheses are allowed. A supposition has not yet been considered: what if the ghost was actually in us? Videographer Eden Tinto Collins chooses to embody him in a film where he wanders alone in the night, while Pol Taburet portrays him in a painting where an unsuspected part of himself takes over during his lovemaking. Each artist seizes here the doubts and anxieties that obsess him to project them on a ghostly figure at the borders of reality.
