And you, what would you do with seven kilometers of bamboo, 5,000 wooden pegs and several tons of rope? This is a dilemma that Bijoy Jain has faced many times, imagining in the four corners of the world, from Melbourne to Venice, hybrid structures combining traditional construction know-how with the aesthetic codes of contemporary architecture. The Indian star at the head of one of the most influential architecture firms in the world is today honoring us with his presence by setting up shop at the Fondation Cartier. More than an exhibition, Bijoy Jain wanted to create a total art experience here in close dialogue with the graphic lines of the building designed by his colleague Jean Nouvel. Between the architectural fragments and the design elements of this great name in architecture, other works enter into the dance uniting Man and his environment. Throughout the tour we find graphite drawings by Chinese visual artist Hu Liu and some of the most beautiful pieces by Danish artist Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye, internationally recognized for her work around ceramics. A mixture of genres to understand the soul of an architect sensitive to the art of gesture and material.
