An exhibition around Rubens at the Dulwich Gallery in London
Dulwich Gallery - London Until January 28, 2024

Did you think that 17thth century painters only represented one type of woman? Rubens proves you wrong in this exhibition given at the Dulwich Gallery in London. Because for the artist, women were his patrons, sometimes his lovers, and even his wives. A great diversity of encounters and relationships brilliantly represented in a series of paintings where the portraits of elegant women of power with a serious and intimidating aura rub shoulders with those of young girls who seem to possess all the innocence in the world. Echoing their portrait, some of the greatest mythological figures respond, like Venus and Aphrodite who complete this great panorama of women as varied as it is inspiring.
