Who are the real heroes? Those with superpowers? Those who shine on the podiums and in the spotlight? For Paul Richer, it is rather the workers and peasants who are working themselves to death. It is therefore to them that the sculptor has dedicated a decade of work which is presented to us in this exhibition with an epico-tragic tone. Here, nothing is sublimated. The artist demonstrates his attentive eye and his manual skill to project us into the harshness of the 19th century. But despite this sad setting, we cannot help but see in this reaper who painfully wipes his forehead or in this Parkinson's patient with a back worn out by work a beauty which, with hindsight, seems obvious to us.
