What is left for a man when the one who had become a piece of himself finally gives up the ghost? To Roger Bissière, he still had an undeniable gift for painting which he then put to use in a work rich in more than 152 paintings which are presented to us in this titanic exhibition. Here, the painter, in search of meaning, seeks to reconnect with essential things such as the freshness of the woods, the lightness of a spring day or even the darkness of the night which he represents with an abstract, almost confusing, but immediately understandable. Because these things are within us, and only need the unique vision of the artist to be sublimated...
