Want to immerse yourself in a magical, luminous atmosphere?

Head to the Festival of Lights which lights up the city of Lyon from December 7, and this year the scale of the works is gargantuan! A whole procession of illuminations infiltrated the city, brightening up the evening of passers-by. Several key places in the city are in the spotlight, such as Saint-Jean Cathedral, which is electrified by the sounds of bass and enveloped in a euphoric rave-party atmosphere. As you enter the Parc de la Tête d'Or, pay attention to the purple of these 500 poppies floating on the trees along the avenue, before letting yourself be fascinated by the Rose Family of the famous singer Philippe Katerine which presents a set of astonishing sculptures roses and then let yourself be fooled by a whole series of magical works hidden in the park.

On the almost-island, you will enter a completely different atmosphere which, from Place des Terreaux, immerses you in an experimental world with a projection of the first films of the Lumière brothers remodeled by A.I. Even more unique, the Théâtre des Célestins will reveal all its secrets to you, open to the public for the first time during the Festival! A few meters away, Place Bellecour will be the unmissable spot to delight your taste buds with a maze of food trucks, each more tempting than the other in a futuristic atmosphere thanks to the Evanescent work which invades the square with its enormous illuminated soap bubbles. Even more unusual (this year the city really went out of its way to celebrate this legendary festival), the Dream Lighters return to highlight the magnificent Fresque des Lyonnais which had strangely remained in the shadows for years.

An unforgettable moment of celebration is indeed expected in the City of Lights which will satisfy young and old until December 10. An advice ? Run – there!
