You will have understood, between two ski slopes, the time has come to take a break in Valloire! Like every year, the Savoyard village, crowned world capital of ephemeral sculpture, offers you a unique visual spectacle in the world with the return of its breathtaking ice sculpture competition during which artisans of the imagination bring completely frosted works to life. This year again, our competitors will only have 84 hours and not a minute more to design these extreme sculptures. Between the tantalizing proposal by Filipino artist Rogel Cabisidan Menu for Today, the improbable Erno Rubik 4 Portraits by Jan Fedorak and the moving Full Heart by Serbian sculptor Marija Markovic, this edition promises some nice surprises... Unfortunately, only one artist among the twenty selected will be awarded the first prize at the end of 3 days of frantic competition demanding speed, rigor and precision. To discover the lucky winner, admire the work of the artists and learn ice sculpture for free, meet on January 9, 10, 11 and 12 in Valloire. After an exceptional show and fireworks display on the night of January 12, it will be the turn of the snow sculpture competition to make its debut four days later with ever crazier creations. Here, monumental statues reach several meters in height, works rise towards the sky while astonishing creations simply seem to defy the laws of attraction. Enough to naturally prolong the magic of the end-of-year holidays!
