And no ! You are not dreaming, 120 euros! This is the price at which a work by the famous painter Pierre Soulages was unfortunately sold. A work that should have been sold with at least two additional zeros... News that makes the whole of Australia tremble!

It all started over the past year, during 2023, when a certain Leigh Capel contacted Sarah Thomas, an Internet user, putting an abstract work for sale on Facebook Marketplace, purchased two years previously. The buyer would have immediately offered the owner of the work double the amount announced (200 Australian dollars, the equivalent of around 120 euros).

Yes, but here it is... Things take another turn when following the exchange, the mother receives a comment from an Internet user informing her that the work would be worth not 200, but rather 20,000 dollars! A significant and justified difference since it is in fact a work by the famous French painter Pierre Soulages, dating from 1957. Entitled Lithograph No. 3, this work signed and numbered in the name of the The artist is what one could call a rare commodity since the latter would have been printed in 200 copies throughout the world!

Obviously, it's a hard blow for the Australian who quickly realized that her buyer, an owner of a gallery in Sydney, had ripped her off in her soul and conscience...  Devastated at the idea of having deprived her family of these resources, she subsequently tried to contact the gallery owner again, unfortunately without success...
