Our never-before-seen images from the sublime Ahmet Ertuğ exhibition at the Conciergerie
Immerse yourself in the heart of one of the largest Gothic rooms in Europe to observe the photos of the talented Turkish photographer, Ahmet Ertuğ. You will immediately be captivated by the perspective of emblematic places of culture and power.
What more sublime setting than the Conciergerie for a meeting for two? With its capitals of intertwined foliage and its keystones nestled eight meters above the ground, this Gothic jewel nestled in the heart of Paris seems to be the ideal place to celebrate the beauty of your love. And it is not the photographer Ahmet Ertuğ who will say the opposite. The Turkish artist invites lovers of pretty things to explore Europe through its pantheons, its theaters and its monuments, for a timeless visit. Between the Baroque libraries and the trompe-l'oeil Renaissance frescoes, between the Vicente Olympic Theater and the Giants' Chamber of the Te Palace in Mantua, Ahmet Ertuğ reveals here the underside of his ideal museum. This exhibition therefore takes us on a marvelous “tour” of the twenty most beautiful European institutions, going from the stunning royal staircase of the Villa Farnese to the dizzying architecture of the Sainte-Chapelle. Perspective games and vanishing points punctuate this dive into the eye of a photographer who spends days studying the path of the sun to obtain the perfect shot.

Transformed into the prison of the Parliament of Paris towards the end of the 14thth century, the Conciergerie remained a major place of detention during the French Revolution with the installation of the Revolutionary Tribunal. His most famous prisoner remains Marie-Antoinette.
