Exhibition The magicians of cinema at the Enghien-les-Bains Arts Center
Over time, the visual effects of cinema have continued to evolve and transform our impression of reality, inviting us to dive into an illusory and imaginary world, sometimes strange... sometimes extraordinary. This is precisely what this exhibition invites us to discover, taking us on a journey behind the scenes of this artistic metamorphosis and more particularly into the world of fantastic cinema and its manufacturing secrets. A golden opportunity to discover the know-how of all the artisans working in the shadow of the directors! From the first special effects by Georges Méliès dating from 1902 to the most modern digital technologies, the pieces presented invite us to travel into the magic of cinema... Between two film screenings, we notably find the famous Batman costume in Batman Forever{ 4} (1995) or the original mirror in Matrix (1999), including a dress worn by Jennifer Lawrence in the film Hunger Games (2012). Next comes a presentation of painted trompe l’oeil decorations but also of visual effects produced in the studio as well as the different stages that accompany them. A unique journey into the magic of special effects at the end of which you will emerge transformed!
The Enghien-les-Bains Arts Center is open until 11 p.m. on performance evenings, and until 8 p.m. on film evenings.
