The sentences pronounced by the two young environmental activists this Saturday, February 10 still resonate at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon.

The Mona Lisa barely wipes the last drop of soup from her window before Claude Monet's Spring is covered with it. The painting by the impressionist master was in fact sprayed this weekend, an action claimed by Riposte Alimentaire on its X account and confirmed by the museum. Once again, the collective wants to warn of the coming climate and social crisis, and demands "the integration of food into the general social security system" . Heat waves, rising water levels, reduction in agricultural yields and food crisis... So many climate threats that France must face and against which ecological activists are trying to fight. Their means of action: raise awareness on the subject and make as much noise as possible to remind everyone of the most important challenge of our century.

If, like Rachida Dati, the mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet supports the museum teams, he is more understanding than the Minister of Culture regarding the action of ecological activists. Indeed, the elected Europe Ecologie les Verts admits that "faced with the climate emergency, anxiety is legitimate", and claims to respond "with resolute action" . While the Museum files a complaint for vandalism, this collective action reminds us that there will be no art on a planet without life, and without food accessible to all.
