Exhibition Tomorrow is cancelled... art and views on sobriety at the EDF Foundation
12
Good news! The message from the EDF Foundation is very clear: Tomorrow is canceled. And yet, it was not won. We only have to take a quick look at this hyper-realistic installation by Bianca Argimón with her men in suits half-buried under a sea of pebbles in a Zen garden, to understand the general feeling that emerges from the environmental crisis… We are all drowning.
Fortunately, David Ancelin thought of everything by adding this pretty black tie – appropriate – to our life jacket, while the prospective duo Art Orienté Objet appears slightly more defeatist by engraving the History of humanity and its collapse on a stone destined for future civilizations. If a common future seems compromised among some of our artists, this collective exhibition hopes to repair the future with joyfully ambivalent works like this very pop installation of cardboard packaging by Neil Beloufa or this giant upcycled sculpture by the Zimbabwean artist Moffat Takadiwa, made only of plastic toothbrush heads, toothpaste tubes and Coca Cola bottle caps. All you have to do is spread the good news…
