Waacking performances under the Nave of the Musée d'Orsay
Orsay Museum
From April 26 to 28, 2024
The nightclub queens are out at the Musée d’Orsay. Born in the disco years, Waacking sees its performers rise on heels, dress in their best evening outfits and demonstrate invigorating and glamorous dancing. The track belongs entirely to the waackers and their confident approach. Tutelary figure of the movement in France, Josepha Madoki, will present her last show at the end of April. Around the dancers rise the statues of the central aisle of the museum. The frenzy of movement confronts the inertia of the stone. But when the performers take an impromptu sculptural pose, their appearance apes those of their marble friends. The artists, dressed in colorful costumes, are full of energy on the track. A festive evening, the finale will consist of a wild dance battle under the Nave of the Musée d'Orsay. And will be invited as judges, three stars of the international waacking scene, the American Princess Lockeroo, the Mexican Lorena and the French Princess Madoki. The competitors will waltz their arms in ever more sensual gestures. For a lively show, soul and funk music in the background, and uninhibited performers who promote self-confidence. The groove always wins!
