The “Éclats” exhibition on the paintings of Carole Benzaken at the Nathalie Obadia Gallery
NATHALIE OBADIA GALLERY Until May 18, 2024

The painting of Carole Benzaken has fun on the canvas. It’s “an art of movement”, as curator Thierry Novarese so beautifully explains. His brush comes to life and, through movement, blurs the scenes to make their meaning waver. A delicate nature, which the breeze seems to agitate. Through his acrylics and his drawings on laminated glass, the artist arranges complex interlacing games, which sometimes make us hesitate, is it a photograph, a painting or a mosaic? The exhibition explores the possibilities of image, form and color, the abstract and the figurative.
Did you know?
The sensitive and harmonious nature depicted by Carole Benzaken moved so many people that a public commission was placed on the artist to design the stained glass windows of the Saint-Sulpice church in Essonne. If you pass through the area, don't hesitate to stop at Varennes-Jarcy to admire the esthete's colorful tulips, evoking the Tree of Jessé.
