The group exhibition Crumbling, the Antiseptic Beauty at the Pernod Ricard Foundation
The idea of a creative force emanating from a solitary genius is refuted in this exhibition. The Foundation welcomes not one but twelve artists within a scenography imagined and arranged by David Douard. Visual artists of different generations and backgrounds, unite their voices to make artistic work, a collective manifestation. Paintings, sculptures, photographs and sound installations govern the exhibition. David Douard, invited as curator for the first time, was given carte blanche to articulate the space and all of the works. Inventive, the esthete established an intimate atmosphere, sometimes flirting with the domestic. Art is sharpened by art. Creative work is always included in an environment, which influences it continuously. Thus, the monstrous SOS Ground Service mask of the performer Gabriele Garabaglia strangely reminds us, through the pale pink of her jaw, the sea green of her eyes and its dripping shape, the acrylic canvas of Guillaume Dénervaud, The Garden of Corruption. The patent leather sofa by Benjamin Lallier is adorned with the same dark and shimmering color as that of the Polished Balls by Maria Angeletti. An exhibition that highlights the attraction.
