On May 25, 2024, prepare yourself for a total immersion in the fascinating world of video games during the first Silence Festival let's play ! From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., the City will be transformed into a true paradise for video game lovers, offering a multitude of exciting activities and encounters.

The festival offers a dense and varied program throughout the day. From 10:30 a.m., the festivities will begin with a dialogue between Jordan Mechner and Patrick Hellio of Silence on jeux. Round tables and thematic discussions will follow, exploring subjects such as the history and heritage of video games, their educational use, and methods of learning games, whether video or board. Speakers from various backgrounds, including creators, researchers and sector experts, will enrich these discussions.

Starting at 2:30 p.m., the festival will highlight a captivating theme: “Video games, my love”. This episode will explore the place of feelings and romance in games. Iconic figures like Tidus and Yuna from Final Fantasy Louise Le Guen of Lightbulb Crew, will discuss the art of transcribing emotions in this unique medium.

Throughout the day, stroll through the retro space and travel to the past of video games thanks to the interactive exhibition of the MO5 association. You will also be able to discover and perform (!) independent productions on site, offering an insight into new trends and innovations in the sector.

Starting at 6 p.m., the event will culminate with a special evening in the Gaston-Berger amphitheater. In addition to discussions and interactive quizzes, spectators will be able to attend an exceptional broadcast of Silence on Joue, in the company of Jordan Mechner and Julien Moya. This evening promises to be a highlight of the festival, combining entertainment and passionate discussions.

Since 2007, Libération's Silence on Joue podcast has been an essential reference for video game enthusiasts. This year, for the first time, the public will have the opportunity to meet in person the voices behind this iconic podcast, including its creator Erwan Cario. Visitors will be able to attend the live recording of a new episode of the podcast, broadcast from the Gaston Berger amphitheater at the Cité des Sciences and broadcast live on Twitch. Among the distinguished guests, Jordan Mechner, the creator of the legendary Prince of Persia, and Julien Moya, co-founder of the Rundisc studio, will share their experience and anecdotes.
