Under the canopy of century-old trees, in the heart of clematis, peonies and Japanese irises, this new edition of the Garden Festival sounds like a gentle return to basics. The Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire celebrates this year a queen, protective and vital nature, by bringing together twenty virtuoso artists from all over the world. Working the landscape like a living work of art, these creators amaze us with their autonomous gardens, masterful demonstrations of age-old know-how revisited with very contemporary creativity. From edible forests to giant protective nests, from plant libraries to fertile flowerbeds, we feel the beating heart of this powerful and benevolent nature which flourishes freely in gardens transformed into true sanctuaries of life.

The flowers exude their intoxicating scents, while the butterflies and bees work tirelessly, reminding us at every moment of their crucial role in our ecosystem. In the enchanting setting of the Jardin de la Declaration, under the arch of old roses and star jasmine, embalmed by the delicious scent of Rosemary, we feel the poetic embrace of love. Here, the multicolored mosaic totems of Bernard Lassus stand like the vestiges of a Sylvan civilization; there, lines are dug into the arid ground, faults like war trenches, the cradle of a miraculous plant rebirth. Each plot of the Festival highlights the force of life, resonating as the promise of a sustainable future: flowers planted on crushed concrete, a gallery of bamboo making a mystical circle around a fallen trunk, an immaculate pastoral garden, lined with sheep's wool, a remarkable humidity sensor... We pass from garden to garden, surprised, charmed, reassured, and above all aware of the inexhaustible source of life that these precious green settings are.

The ancestor’s garden
Have you ever heard of Seolmundae? This deity, whom Koreans affectionately consider a great-grandmother, is said to have created the island of Jeju, a unique ecosystem in the world. Here we enter an inspiring bucolic Eden, acting as a rainwater reservoir surrounded by a purifying forest, composing an astonishing harmony between tropical and alpine zones, reminding us that living paradises are not necessarily utopias .

Frozen theater
Observe. In front of you, a monochrome winter landscape, which holds its breath as before the blossoming of spring. From this mineral earth, white and icy under the rays of the summer sun, emerges a soft and silvery vegetation of blue conifers. Facing this otherworldly setting sits a wooden shelter, reminiscent of a theater, which offers a meditative space to imagine the plant life of tomorrow.

Pto go further…
At nightfall, on beautiful summer evenings, the Domaine's gardens wake up in their most beautiful light. The scents of flowers, accentuated by the cool night air, perfume the air, creating an intoxicating atmosphere. The soothing murmur of flowing water mixes with the melodious songs of nocturnal insects, adding a sonic dimension to this natural symphony. Under the soft light of the moon, the gardens transform, revealing new perspectives in a finely orchestrated light show, creating living tableaux of striking beauty. The finely orchestrated play of light reveals new perspectives, transforming the garden into a place where each step has a new visual surprise in store for you.
