A unique evening marked by beauty and emotion, in the heart of Paris, in one of the most emblematic places in the capital. From June 20 to 29, 2024, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées opens its doors to an exceptional musical experience with the staging of “L’Olimpiade” by Vivaldi, here in this legendary place of the Parisian artistic scene which promises total immersion in the baroque universe of the Venetian composer.
“L'Olimpiade”, composed in 1734, is one of Antonio Vivaldi's most brilliant and moving works. This opera, with a libretto by Metastasio, tells a story of love and rivalry through virtuoso arias and exciting recitatives. Vivaldi's talent for melody and emotional complexity finds a perfect setting here, promising an evening of dramatic and musical intensity.
Led by the Vivaldi master Jean-Christophe Spinosi, the musical direction promises a faithful and inspired interpretation of Vivaldi's score. His energy combined with the vocals and the art of break dancing of Jakub Józef Orliński should celebrate the Olympian spring with joy.

“L’Olimpiade” was created in Venice in 1734, at the Teatro Sant’Angelo, to a libretto by the poet Metastasius after Herodotus. It was a resounding and immediate success. The action takes place near the city of Olympia on the day of the games. But the libretto serves above all as a pretext for a tremendous melodic overflow where betrayed friendships and thwarted loves compete. In addition to the musical richness, “L'Olimpiade” explores universal themes that still resonate today: moral dilemmas, personal challenges and the quest for excellence. Each character, with their ambitions and weaknesses, offers a mirror in which the audience can recognize themselves, adding an intimate and personal dimension to the collective experience.
