Until September 27, 2024
Theresa Goldman, better known as Terry Haass, spanned the 20th century with remarkable intensity and diversity. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1923, she escaped the Nazi horrors, emigrated to France, and immersed herself in an artistic career where prints and sculpture held a central place. His works, imbued with motifs borrowed from physical sciences and great myths, resonate with Hartung and Bergman's quest for abstraction. Their meeting in Norway in 1951 marked the beginning of a fruitful friendship and a mutual influence palpable in their respective creations. The exhibition reveals this unique alchemy through moving archives, intimate letters and rare photographs, highlighting the deep complicity and mutual respect between these three artists. Haas's works sit alongside Hartung's bold canvases and Bergman's luminous compositions, creating an exceptional visual symphony.
