Bulky items, very little for them. These artist designers and interior architects prefer to bring up to date old decommissioned furniture, gone from the status of inalienable goods to that of undesirables.

Removed from the inventories of the National Furniture, these unfortunate works thus find themselves in the hands of artists adept at upcycling, and no one will be satisfied here with a good lick of paint or a shiny lacquer... Whether it's deliciously retro at Mathilde Bretillot or scandalously pop at Laureline Galliot, each has its own metamorphosis. Alexandre Benjamin Navet focuses on color and geometric patterns by modernizing an Empire style bed skirt into a conversation cabinet. Same trend with the visual artist Nathalie Talec who transforms a 20th century child's bed into a work of gold and crystal whose mattress is nothing more than a sparkling survival blanket. From Arthur Hoffner's trompe-l'oeil candlesticks to Alexis Mabille's studded table, this striking exhibition multiplies unique pieces in a set of fanciful and surrealist paintings. When making something new out of something old is more than just an expression.
