Color, lots of impertinence and a hint of mischief. And you, what words would you choose to summarize the deliciously chaotic work of Gérard Guyomard? The Château de Vascœuil invites you to form your opinion during a completely crazy tête-à-tête with one of the last masters of narrative painting. Articulated around a hundred exuberant creations, acrylics on canvas, works on paper and cut-out wood, this exhibition with a lively and tangy palette thus crosses sixty years of uninhibited painting, moving freely from its immense paintings to its careful cutting. An offbeat parenthesis in the non-conformist spirit of a perfectly self-taught anarchist artist.

FOCUS ON… A wonderful garden
Don't leave the Château de Vascœuil without taking a look at its French garden and its open-air sculpture gallery. The English-style park contains around fifty original works, bronzes, marbles, ceramics and mosaics, by Georges Braque, Jean Cocteau and Victor Vasarely. The queen of this colorful procession? The Victory of Freedom by Salvador Dalí, both arms raised to the sky holding the flame firmly between his fists.
