Fine Arts of Paris
From June 28 to 29, 2024
This weekend, the Beaux-Arts de Paris are opening their doors wide for the 2024 Open Workshops, a unique opportunity to delve into the creative world of young artists. Spread across the sites of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Saint-Ouen, this event offers a total immersion in contemporary artistic diversity, highlighting the talents of students through a variety of works and activities.
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the workshops are transformed into real exhibition spaces, revealing installations, paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos created by the students of the preparatory class Via Ferrata until the fifth year. Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the creations of the winners of the prizes and scholarships awarded by the Amis des Beaux-Arts de Paris, thus illustrating the richness and diversity of artistic practices.
One of the highlights of this edition is the presentation of the trophies created by six Fine Arts artists for the gold medalists of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, in partnership with the Cité de la Ceramique - Sèvres and Limoges. Exhibited at the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins, these trophies bear witness to the exceptional know-how and innovation of these young creators.
You will be able to explore the workshops open on Friday June 28 and Saturday June 29, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The works of the students of Via Ferrata, the printing and micro-publishing fair Saint- Germain des Prints, as well as screenings and performances at the Contemporary Art Library will be among the main attractions. In addition, a sale of fine books and art books at exceptional prices will be held in the vestibule of the Palais des Études, offering the opportunity to leave with artistic treasures at reduced prices.
The See Double exhibition in the glass courtyard promises an immersive experience where the works dialogue and reflect each other, creating a true visual symphony, alternating the concepts of double and reflection. From counterforms to exploded diptychs, through games of stereophony and stereoscopy, the artists explore the multiple facets of the double.
In Saint-Ouen, you can discover the ceramics, blacksmithing, composite materials, modeling, molding and carving workshops freely or during guided tours. On Saturday June 29, a culinary performance will be held at 12:30 p.m., followed by introductions to ceramics offered by the New Academy of Amateurs (NABA) at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
