Twenty-five years already. The Pernod Ricard Foundation Prize is celebrating this very wonderful anniversary this year, having established itself since its creation in 1999 as a springboard for young artists, offering them a unique platform to present their works to the general public and to art professionals. Upon entering the doors of the exhibition, we are immediately immersed in a universe where emotions are transformed into art, during a sensory journey dissolving the boundaries between reality and fiction to make way for a deep exploration of human affects. Hidden behind an apparent simplicity, the works presented here invite us to question. Clémentine Adou's installations, playing with the notions of visibility and political invisibility, deploy behind an astonishing economy of means, a mechanism of recovery and subtraction, revealing a subtle but incisive critique of contemporary power structures. Here clown noses seem to juggle alone, animated by industrial mechanisms in a caustic dialogue between the trivial and the serious, the absurd and the significant. Then come the performances of Madison Bycroft, orchestrated like visual and sonic palimpsests, bordering on illegibility, placing the joystick of freedoms in our non-expert hands. Videos scented with the bittersweet scent of the struggles that led to them, artisanal blown glass mingling with cutting-edge robotic processes, sensual choreographies as a statement, painting-poems or body-memories, the creations of these visionary artists explore the facets of 'a changing world, transforming forms into movements, emotions into matter, time into works of art.
