What if the Nutcracker refused to go to war? Johanna Boyé revisits Hoffmann's tale, transforming it into a tender and mischievous fable about resilience. Clara, a little girl injured but intrepid, receives a broken automaton for Christmas that whisks her away to the whimsical kingdom of the Pirpilates. Here, coconuts, rebellious princesses, and belligerent mice create a farcical world where humor and poetry replace warlike heroism. Filled with songs and dances, this new Comédie-Française production celebrates the power of imagination and the courage to grow up.
