With direct and unadorned writing, Cuts portrays lives marked by ruptures, silences, and irreversible decisions. The text is rooted in reality to observe characters confronted with choices that fracture their daily lives and reshape their paths. The tense and precise dialogues reveal unspoken words and intimate vulnerabilities, unveiling what transpires in pivotal moments. The play explores how relationships fray, how words fail or wound, and how fractures sometimes take root without a clamor. The staging favors simplicity to give full rein to the power of the text and the actors' performances. Cuts offers a lucid and sensitive look at our contemporary vulnerabilities, bringing forth a contained, almost raw emotion that resonates long after the performance.
