The Invalides are putting on a show
Dome Courtyard, Hôtel national des Invalides
Saturday, September 5, 2026
The cinema is set up at the foot of the Dome.
The military governor of Paris installs a screen in the Dome's courtyard and opens Les Invalides for three open-air evenings.
The courtyard is usually crossed in broad daylight, camera in hand. Here, it is revealed at nightfall, once the screen is erected and the audience is seated facing the Dome. The monument houses Napoleon's tomb and overlooks the complex commissioned by Louis XIV for his wounded soldiers.
The programming embraces a wide range of styles. The Wolf's Call opens the cycle with its underwater thriller, WALL-E follows from Disney Pixar, and And There Were One Man, directed by George Clooney, closes the series.
Access is only via Place Vauban, as Rue de Grenelle remains closed to the public during screenings.
The ticket acts as a donation. The twelve euros go entirely to the Comité de l'Entraide Défense, which supports four defense-related associations. No tax receipt is issued and no refunds are given in case of cancellation.
