Moulin Rouge, Crazy Horse, Madame Arthur… The cabarets are coming to Chaillot!

CABARET SEASON.

1

The major Parisian entertainment venues and alternative stages meet at Chaillot. With "Cabarets," the National Dance Theatre celebrates an art of revelry, metamorphosis, and irreverence. At the helm: Martin Dust and Monsieur K, two mistresses of ceremonies who know the art of captivating an audience.

Usually, you choose your venue. An evening at the Moulin Rouge, a getaway to the Crazy Horse, a visit to Madame Arthur's… This time, it's Chaillot that brings these worlds together. The theatre welcomes the grand traditions of the revue, drag, burlesque striptease, song, and the most unrestrained performances. A chance to discover just how multifaceted cabaret truly is.

The lineup includes Le Moulin Rouge, Crazy Horse Paris, Madame Arthur, Artishow, Chez Michel Forever, Au Lapin Agile, La Bouche, La Nouvelle Ève, Les Meneuses, Les Sea Girls, Oh! César Paris, Tease Tease Tease Cabaret by Kiki Béguin and Vénus Noire, along with Le Cabaret de Poussière and La Barbichette, represented by their respective mistresses of ceremonies.

And what mistresses of ceremonies they are! Martin Dust, founder of Le Cabaret de Poussière, wields song as skillfully as satire. A songwriter and director, he creates a new show for his cabaret every month. Alongside him, Monsieur K, a figure from La Barbichette, has been cultivating an unconventional cabaret for twenty-five years, where poetry rubs shoulders with the unpredictable. Having previously served as artistic director for Madame Arthur, he has established his own show at La Machine du Moulin Rouge. Two personalities to accompany this journey through Parisian nights.

As the performances unfold, the worlds shift. The Crazy Horse presents three pieces from its repertoire, But I’m A Good Girl, Miss Bisou, and Baby Buns, where light interacts with the performers' bodies. Madame Arthur performs her songs in French, live, while Artishow cultivates metamorphosis. With La Bouche, featuring Mascare, Soa de Muse, Bili Bellegarde, and Grand Soir, the party also becomes a space for queer expression. The Sea Girls bring a spark of self-deprecation; Vénus Noire, an Afro-queer troupe founded by Michelle Tshibola, invents its own stories and mythologies.

The appeal of this event lies in these juxtapositions: legendary venues, artists who challenge conventions, and generations coming together. Behind the costumes and the dramatic contrasts, there's a shared commitment to performance, a love of play, and a unique way of taking freedom seriously without sacrificing laughter. At Chaillot, the season opening will have the feel of a grand finale.
