National Artists' Days 2026: five open studios in Paris this weekend, from Les Frigos to Belleville
NATIONAL ARTISTS' DAYS
October 2-4, 2026
They paint, sculpt, and weld just three streets away from you, and you didn't even know it. From October 2nd to 4th, more than 560 studios will open their doors in Paris and the Île-de-France region.

Launched by the Maison des Artistes with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Artists' Days return from Friday, October 2nd to Sunday, October 4th for their second edition: more than a thousand events across France, including 560 in Paris and the Île-de-France region, almost all of them free. You can walk right in without a ticket, chat with the artist in front of their work in progress, participate in a workshop, and sometimes even leave with a piece under your arm.
Our Parisian journey begins in the 13th arrondissement, at Les Frigos, the former refrigerated warehouse of the freight station, which has become, since the 1980s, the capital's largest artists' hub: dozens of studios open three days a week from 2 pm to 7 pm. A stone's throw away, on Quai Panhard-et-Levassor, Walt has taken over the former Parisian offices of Disney and houses artists and associations, with its doors open all weekend. Still on the Left Bank, nine studios in the 6th arrondissement are participating, from Rue de Sèvres to Rue Dauphine, showcasing painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. In Belleville, on Rue Ramponeau, Alexis Parmantier spins his kinetic light drums at the Trissage workshop, a demonstration that delights children. And on Rue Henri-Chevreau, in the 20th arrondissement, Lika Kato and Mellvioline are painting a mural live at the foot of a building, "Jack and the Beanstalk." To explore further, the 6b in Saint-Denis opens its workshops on Saturday with exhibitions, performances, concerts, and DJ sets.
The complete program can be viewed on an interactive map, by city and by arrondissement for Paris. Most events are open to the public, while some workshops require registration: all the details are provided on each event page.
To continue: our top most beautiful free exhibitions in Paris and the free museums this first Sunday.
