Open Studios from Antwerp to Abbesses: 105 artists open their studios in Montmartre
OPEN DAYS IN ANTWERP AT THE ABBESSES
November 20-23, 2026
The Anvers aux Abbesses Open Studios bring together 105 artists in 48 studios in Montmartre, from November 20 to 23, 2026, with free admission. The association opens workspaces that are not open to the public the rest of the year, from the Cité Montmartre aux Artistes to the Atelier d’Art Lepic, which hosts Henri Landier.
The Anvers aux Abbesses association has been uniting visual artists from the 9th, 10th, 17th, 11th, 12th, and 18th arrondissements for over thirty years, and its Open Studios provide an opportunity for this network to become visible. Painting, drawing, ink drawing, sculpture, engraving, printmaking, photography, ceramics, fashion design, mosaic, stained glass, and digital art are all represented. Most of the studios are exceptionally open, alongside collective spaces such as the Cité Montmartre aux Artistes, Is’Art gallery, Suzanne Buisson, and Villa des Arts. Red banners mark the addresses, and a map is available on the association's website and in the studios.
The Atelier d’Art Lepic is number 27 on the route, at 1 rue Tourlaque, 75018. Henri Landier works there, creating paintings and engravings, and we had already visited his studio. The space had previously celebrated its fiftieth anniversary and remains one of the few historic studios on the Butte to open its doors for each edition.
The Émiles give these days their ritual. Artists who wish to participate create a small-format work within the dimensions set by the previous year's winner, Stéphanie Wezemaël, and the Wall of Émiles gathers more than a hundred of these works at the Galerie Guillet Arcane 17, 8 avenue Trudaine, 75009, each piece selling for a single price of 150 euros. A jury of experts awards three prizes, and the public chooses a fourth. The collection of award-winning works acquired since 2000 can be seen at L’Œil du Huit, 19 rue Boucry, 75018 Paris.
The association dedicates this edition to three of its deceased members: the painter and sculptor Jean Villalard, winner of the 2024 Émiles Prize; Paul Dehédin, honorary member and founder of the Émiles competition; and Simone Picciotto, painter, illustrator, and ceramicist.
