Regardez-vos pieds, que voyez-vous ? Des chaussures ? Non, c’est bien plus ! En réalité, vous pouvez y voir une histoire, un mode de vie, un signe d’appartenance à un groupe. La chaussure, cet objet qui semble si banal et familier est en réalité le reflet d’une culture et d’une civilisation. Bottes, sandales, escarpins, babouches, mocassins, baskets, il y en a pour tous les goûts !  Plus d’une centaine de chaussures sont exposées ici, datant du XVIe siècle à aujourd’hui et venant des quatre coins du monde, chacune nous racontant son histoire. Vous apprendrez par exemple qu’au XVIIe, la taille des pieds était un indicateur de beauté et de prestige des femmes en Chine alors qu’en Europe, les talons étaient un symbole de pouvoir. On découvre aussi les photographies inédites de l’artiste catalan Xavier G-Solí qui tente de faire éprouver le lien intime qui se crée entre une personne et ses chaussures. Laissez votre empreinte en participant au « Podomaton » pour afficher vos souliers et votre témoignage.

LE TRIPOSTAL, LILLE

For the first time, the Tripostal brings together the twenty-two Regional Contemporary Art Funds around the often-maligned art form: humor. From October 9, 2026, to January 3, 2027, "Éclats du rire!" (Bursts of Laughter!) features 153 works by 104 artists in Lille, transforming the building into a comedy club on Thursday evenings.

Les Franciscaines hosts the 17th edition of the Planches Contact Festival, on the theme Generations, from October 17, 2026 to January 3, 2027. Sixteen photographers spent several months in residence in Normandy, and Bruce Gilden is installing his New York retrospective right on the beach in Deauville.
