Climb the top of the mountains without leaving dry land? Here is the crazy proposition of this dizzying exhibition centered on Alpine refuges. Nestled at the foot of Mont-Blanc, the Maisonforte de Hautetour invites us today to follow in the footsteps of the first adventurers and to walk in the footsteps of experienced mountaineers in order to take a completely different look at the mountain landscape and these makeshift shelters, transformed over the centuries into a haven of comfort and conviviality for the most courageous of climbers. This ascent to the summits will not be possible without good equipment... This rich exhibition can fortunately count on its numerous paintings, models, engravings and photographs, postcards and filmed portraits, as well as on this rare prototype of the Tonneau de Charlotte refuge Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret to retrace more than 200 years of intimate and collective history. Led by the sound of the trampled snow and a breath cut off by the effort, we will end up joining a surprising reconstruction of the Aigle refuge from 1910. This journey ends away from the classic routes taken by the walkers with a whole series of trails, reflection and questions around the refuges of the world tomorrow.
