Exhibition of Julia Pirotte Photographer and Resistance fighter at the Shoah Memorial

Among the resistance fighters of the Second World War, there were resistance fighters! The Shoah Memorial does not fail to remind us of this with this moving exhibition on Julia Pirotte, an anonymous artist who witnessed the worst atrocities of her time. Armed with his camera, this shadowy figure dedicated his life to the service of the most oppressed, capturing in his photos the precariousness of the inhabitants of the Old Port, the acts of sabotage in the maquis, the Kielce pogrom. This rich monograph takes us to the sound of her own voice in the story of a committed woman who is unfortunately the victim of a tormented era.
