The Atomic Age exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris
Paris Museum of Modern Art
From October 11, 2024 to February 9, 2025
Would the success of the blockbuster Oppenheimer have given ideas to the Museum of Modern Art in Paris? For the first time, an exhibition looks at the effects of the atomic bomb on 20th century artists by revealing the countless repercussions of this “mega-event” on the History of art. From the first consequences on the work of Kandinsky to the direct repercussions on the artists born with the bomb, including the shock of Little Boy on the production of Jackson Pollock and Barnett Newman, the Parisian institution places Man at the heart of this race to the destruction where he was simultaneously executioner and victim.
